Come August my blog will be 5 years old. I have decided to stop publishing here. I’m going to make a backup of the just in case. I will be leaving the site up, but as I said will not be updating it.

I started the blog when I thought I was going back to school to learn computer programing. I was blogging to prepare myself for writing in college courses. It had been about 10 years since the last time I wrote anything beyond a note for someone. So it was basically a way to brush up on my writing habits. Also I was interested in learning some design, html coding and basic site maintenance. Then as I started traveling. The site became an easy way for less techy people to keep up with what was going on in my life. Myspace and Facebook taught those people how to communicate in the online world and also made the blog less useful.

The final nail in the coffin was my stats on the site. I was getting more traffic to my blog from the links on my facebook, twitter, and flickr pages than I was getting direct links to my blog. Meaning more people get info about me from those 3 sites first, then goto my blog.

we have the AT&T 3 Mbps down and 512 kbps up service. Looks like I’m getting 97% of my actual/advertised service instead of the typical 80% you normally get. Also my upstream is almost double at close to 1 Mbps

Finally finished moving. I was living with my girlfriend and her son along with her sister and her sisters son. We went our separate ways a week ago. We are now living in Fenton in Greenmar Apartments. Its funny because basically my first apartment was upstairs and across the hall from our current apartment. I was thinking about that and realized that was 17 years ago. Was right after I dropped out of high school. Matter of fact I was living there when I found out I passed my GED and I could enroll in Community College. That seems like forever ago, and it almost is.

One good thing about Fenton these days is the police. Used to be Fenton cops and now its St Louis County cops. Much easier to deal with.

Just happened to check my flickr traffic today and noticed this.

I was thinking 900 views in one day is a lot for my photostream. On a good day I see 200 or 300 hits. Average is like 140. I also noticed the traffic was spread out. It wasn’t one photo with a ton of views it was like 700 photos viewed only once each.

So it basically means someone spent some time Sunday looking at all my photo’s Hope you enjoyed.

Also I’ll be moving soon and will give more info after that happens.

My insurance on the Honda Cub was $157 a year. In a garage and in Maryland Heights its $80 a year. Nice!

I guess I am glad my parents didn’t have a VHS cam corder when I was young.

I doubt anyones getting sued, but christ this is lame. I happen to see this on the coffee table. It must be part of some school thing. Nice to know the school systems are so unoriginal.

On the other paper it says ipod. “In the ipod screen…” The other side is the same but in Spanish.

Basically still trying to learn how to arrange shit.

Yeah its nothing new, but now I found the wiki page this time. I used to have to search for the tech-recipe post on the top 5 carriers and their addresses. This time when I searched for sms and email it gave me a wiki listing. If you goto the bottom of the wiki page it has a long list of carriers and their email address to use to sms. Even has MMS addresses.

They call them “gateways”
