Its a MSI DR16-B. Its basicly a BenQ with MSI slaped on it. I had great luck right out of the box with DVD+R 16X disc. There was talk on the internet about some media brands not working with certain model writer. I made a backup of all three Star Wars Movies and averaged 4 1/2 minutes on the burn time and 15 minutes on the write to hard drive.. Not bad considering a 4X would take 15minutes to burn. I was holding out for somthing in the 5minute range since I got used to burning CD’s at 5 minute. Now I burn CD’s at 2 1/2 minutes but I can live with 5 minutes
