I’m not Lost I Found It
For some reason I don’t start watching a show till popular or two off the air. Either way I think the reason might be one that I don’t want to get involved in a show that they will cancel and piss me off in the end or I am just lazy. Although I did start watching Arrested Development from the start but I had a feeling about that one and it almost got canceled so they you go. I think the last ABC show I watched was Happy Days, no wait Max Headroom and Moonlighting might have been the last now that I think about it. I wanted to start watching Lost the moment I read about it. I have always had a thing for the stuck on an Island stuff. I saw Man Friday with Richard Roundtree (yes That bad mother fucker Shaft) and Peter O’toole (Lawrence of Arabia) It a Robinson Crusoe story but I liked it as a kid. For the Record I didn’t like Castaway. Everyone tells me I’m nuts but I just didn’t enjoy it. Maybe its because he made it off the Island. I think there are two types of people when it comes to being stuck on an Island. 1. the ones that want off the Island and 2. the ones that don’t. I tend to be the kind of person that would want to stay. I mean I wouldn’t want to stave or dehydrate to death but I would love to have the time to create everything from scratch. Of course I wouldn’t want to be alone either. I guess it might be a sin that I never read or watched Lord of the Flies. I just think The Outsiders was such a good coming of age/adolescence book/movie that I didn’t need to read Lord of the Flies. Mosquito Coast is another good movie I really became a River Phoenix fan at this point. Back to the focus here. I caught the beginning of last night’s episode of Lost. It had the plane crashing and I thought wow the just started to rerun the season and I can watch it from the start. Wrong they were having the “recap” episode. Sort of like the episodes where a show shows clips from the past seasons in some “reflecting” plot that is lame and some times the sign of the downslide of a show. Now it is popular to have an episode where they play catch up for all the people that hear all the talk at the water cooler and want to start watching, but feel left out due to starting up in the middle. That’s What I go sucked into. I stopped watching so I would spoil the surprise when I watched hem from start to finish. I looked on amazon.com for a release date on the DVD’s of Lost and it’s in September. I can’t wait that long. In the old days you had to schedule you life around a TVguide and hope that they play all the reruns. Now you can buy DVDs of complete seasons. I can’t wait that long. I hit IRC chat rooms and found a fast server serving them and have episode 1-9. That’s half of them. I can’t wait to watch them all. As far as drama its one of the best shows in a while that I’ve watched on “network” TV. I downloaded Trailer Park Boys, 6 Feet Under, Carnival, and a few others but the are all cable. If you haven’t watch Lost yet wait till September and rent it on DVD. Oh yeah I have watched 24 and I think it sucks ass. I also could have used paragraphs on this post but I never was much on editing and writing drafts sorry for the eye strain
