Doctor Who?
I heard a lot about the new doctor Who BBC series last year. I purposely waited to watch this show till the first season was finished. That way I can watch them straight threw. I hate waiting for shows week by week. Not to mention I’m currently watching enough shows right now that air weekly.
First off I’m not a big Dr Who fan, but I really enjoyed the new series. I remember being up in the eighties on a Sunday night and tuning in to PBS to watch the show before it was canceled in 89’. (Unless I had cable and the monkeys and The Young Ones aired on MTV l) I had no idea the DR Who ran form 1963 to 1889. That’s one hell of a run. The BBC must make a fortune selling those DVDs. I found one on Amazon with just a bunch of episodes from the old series. Has 46 DVDs and sells for $644.
I watched 3 episodes last night before bed and will finish up the 1st season today.
In related British trivia I watched SNL last week (pretty good episode) Hosted by Hugh Laurie the guy from House MD. Now I used to watch this show with my ex girlfriend. She loved medical shows. This one was actually pretty good for a doctor TV show. Now I know why. Hugh Laurie was a British actor that co stared on Black Adder. I didn’t recognize him because in House MD because he uses an American accent in the show. A fucking damn good American accent at that. Bravo to him for breaking that silly British humor stereo type. Of course he was great at silly British humor. I just don’t see Rowan Atkinson or any of the Mighty Python cast doing more American style humor.
