Sort of Blown Away by This

Photosynth

I just watched this video about photosynth. Its basically the answer to the “Why geotag the location of a flickr picture”. photosynth takes the Google Earth thing to the next level by using our photographs to “wire frame” a 3D environment on the internet. Not only is it in 3D , but you can fly around and zoom in. The whole time being able to identify the picture that is making this environment happen and linking to the site that the picture came from. This way people can connect with others making it social. Oh and its from Microsoft. (GASP) At least all their money is goingto some use. Also contributing is the University of Washington.
