Almost over my case of Slight Pneumonia

I started getting sick around Saturday or Sunday I forget which. I had a runny nose. Then come Monday night I woke up choking on fluid in my lung. I knew what it was since I had it in Bangkok real bad. I’ve been coughing and coughing but nothing comes up. it gurgled in my chest and made me wheeze bad. So I’ve been sleeping sitting up all week. Today I only feel it a little bit in my chest and my head feels clear.

I did manage to ride about a mile today to get some groceries. I was glad it didn’t kill me. I’ve been wanting to ride as much as I can for a few reasons. I want to get in shape before I leave for Bangkok and work some of them rice and beans off from Brazil. I also want to get used to the heat as much as I can before walking into a wave of 90 plus heat and 80 plus humidity 24/7. I’ve been avoiding AC as much as I can. I would also like to enjoy riding while I can since it would be a bad idea in Bangkok to ride a bike.

You take care of yourself. Pneumonia is nothing to fool around with! Heat. Blah. Give me my full-on a/c AND a fan. I can’t stand being hot. But, it means you get to sleep naked and not be cold. LOL.

AC is really bad for you. If you live in a hot climate most of the year it only makes you sick. In the Keys I never ran it. You’d shock your body too much going in and out of it an AC climate. Its best to just let your body adjust to the heat and use a fan.

Ponder this the lungs run optimal at 80% humidity. An AC unit is basically a dehumidifier.

Hey, I just don’t leave me house. Unless I am getting into my pre-cooled down A/C van. That’s what the kids are for, cooling down the car.

Growing up without ac was not really a problem with me,but the weekend trip to the movies or a weekend at grandma Studebackers were lovely. Extreme heat causes shortness of breath that may keep fluid in your lungs.

Extreme heat? Your talking about the type of “days” were they tell you to watch out on the weather report, then a few old people drop dead. It would not cause fluid in the lungs under normal conditions. Only infection and drowning cause that.
Extreme cold also causes shortness of breath. Like when I would hack and hack in the winter when I was younger from bronchial.

Only other way that heat and fluid in the lungs could be related would be at high altitudes or under heavy exercise like running for a long period of time.

I’m not wanting to get to defensive about this, but my conditioning myself for the heat is not the cause of my phenomena. The location (quality of air ect.) I choose to condition myself in was the root of the problem
