Trackball Stopped Working Yesterday

I just bought a few months ago for $100. I wasn’t about to buy another one. The cord must have got smashed or cut a bit in my luggage on the way home. So I took it apart and replaced the cord. I was not looking forward to doing it since USB wires are small. I only had about an inch to work with from the plastic connecter at the board in the mouse. Striping wires that small is never fun. Lucky for me my dad have some heatshrink tubing around the house which made it easy to reconnect and cover them. I doubt I could have taped these wires up.

The downside of cracking the case was the fact that I found out that it uses the same plastic switches for the buttons as my old Logitech. I have been replacing my old Logitech trackball mice every 6 months due to wearing out the same plastic switches. I’ll see how long these switches last me.
